Why am I doing this?

I’ve been running for a number of years and I’m always up for a challenge. I like to support local charities in Stoke-on-Trent and I’m passionate about supporting the work of our only Children’s Hospice in the area.

It's a sad fact of life that some children are born with, or develop conditions which limit their life.

The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice works so hard to make each and every day these young people have with us special. They really do help to make every moment count.

I find that simple motto so inspiring, we should all make every moment count. Right now the hospice is open Mondays to Saturdays, 24 hours a day with 6 beds, but their ultimate aim is to secure sufficient funding to open all 8 beds, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

So I’ve decided to do another running challenge to help raise funds for my local Children’s Hospice and with that in mind I developed The 6 Towns RunX2.

With your help, the hospice can continue to provide much-needed support for children and their families. You can make a difference and help me complete my gruelling challenge so click on the links below to find out how you can contribute to making every moment count for life-threatened children across Staffordshire and South Cheshire.donation Donate through justgiving.com donna_logo The Donna Louise Hospice website

6 Towns RunX2 = 12 Half marathons in 12 days

6 TOWNSX2 = 12 HALF MARATHONS IN 12 DAYS.
That’s the challenge before me.

My name’s Phil and in 2010 I raised over £1000 for The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice by running 6 half marathons in 6 days.

Now in 2012 I’m bringing the 6 Towns Run back but this time I’m doubling the amount from 6 half marathons to 12.

Starting on Wednesday the 28th of March I shall run a half marathon (13.1 miles) every day and finish on Easter Sunday the 8th of April.

My aim is to raise as much money as I can for the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice Trust by running pre planned half marathon routes throughout North Staffordshire and South Cheshire.

You can support my fund raising efforts by making a donation, or why not join me for a run. Anyone is welcome to come along and run with me, and you can run a short distance or do a whole half marathon.

If you’d like to be involved and help me complete my challenge then please email me or click on this link to get involved. JOIN TEAM 6TOWNS

Maps, locations and start times will be posted on the 12 runs section of the website in the coming weeks.

Please support me and the work of The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice Trust.

Thank you
